Bautista released

Yup. xWOBA is 373 which is 5th best on the team right behind Acuna. Compared to his actual 332 WOBA. So the mention of bad luck holds up here. His overall exit veloity is 91.7 which puts him tied for 54th right ahead of Harper and Trout.

Those are two things that our previous FO likely had no clue about.

gold standard franchise...braves way

Camargo was very lucky last year according to Statcast, and has been unlucky this year.

His success in 2018 has been fueled by a huge spike in his BB rate over 70 PAs. He has otherwise been the same hitter as 2017.

Is that BB rate going to hold up? Or is he going to revert back to the .300ish xwOBA guy he was last season?

I’m guessing the Braves will be looking to acquire a 3B rental in 2 months.

walk rate is probably flukish, but the smaller drop in K rate might be significant

Guys realize this is exactly what the front office wanted. Try Bautista out and see if he had some magic. When he didn't and our infield got healthy, he was gone. It's pretty simple really. It does highlight that we need a bit more MIF depth though.

phil gosselin was picked up recently.

So the Braves owe him nothing? Or the remainder of a pro-rated 1M for the rest of the season, with the Mutts paying a pro-rated league minimum 500k or so?

No biggie. Good luck to him. The Mets aren't likely to be our problem.

Certainly not a Mets fan, but it's a shame what happened with David Wright.

While I didn't mind his release at the time, AA might've been right that Joey Bats has one more year left in him. He has put up an .894 OPS with the Mets including a .418 OBP and is hitting righties best while playing mostly LF, he has a 1 DRS in LF too so not costing any runs there.
