Biden Drops Out of Race

“Material change”?

Wow! What a joke.

Just admit you’ll bend over and do whatever the dnc tells you.

Democrat voters are actually going to run with the idea that Bidens condition severly worsened in the past month?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

No, but the election made his current level very apparent to all Americans. What’s your argument, beyond a purely process-driven one that Biden should stay in the race? Do you want him making decisions for the country for the next 4 years?

For what it’s worth, the debate changed nothing about where I think Biden is cognitively. I think he’s better than his debate performance but worse than the average American human. That’s what I’ve thought for 4+ years though.

Biden should not stay in the race. Biden should not be president now. He shouldn't have been president in 2020 either when it was clear he was suffering from Dementia. Everyone knows that but OMB!!!

Excellent, so you agree the Democrats acted appropriately by pressuring him to drop out of the race and that he made the right choice doing so.

Only after acting irresponsibly for 4 years?

WOW! Here is a cookie!

I think the Dems orchestrated a huge farce on the American people by pushing a candidate they knew was not fit for office, because they believed he was the best choice to beat Trump, not because they believed in his ability to lead.

And for that reason, I believe the Democratic party should not be given relief for their shenanigans. Dance with the one you brought and all that jazz.

This isn't the first time they have pulled this type of stunt even in the last decade, or have we forgot about the DNC emails about Bernie?

You can't be the party that saves democracy while actively undermining the election process.

You can when you accurately identify your voters as empty glasses of water

I wholeheartedly agree with the assessment of what the DNC did, but I don’t agree with the resolution. This isn’t about sportsmanship or learning lessons, it’s about governing. Also, I don’t think Dems are actually any more concerned with Democracy than Republicans are. Most of the time I find both parties rush to flip their position on *anything* procedural like this as soon as it’s their party that benefits from something or not. SCOTUS and gerrymandering come to mind as prominent examples.

There must be consequences for actions.

Sorry, but I don't believe in circumventing the election process is a proper resolution. The only resolution I would accept that would not **** on the election process would be postponing their convention and conducting a special election, in mid-to-late August. Yes I realize that is cutting it short for Dems in campaigning for the national election, but they put themselves in this position.

Stop it with this.

DEMOCRACY is at stake here!

I think you’re perhaps putting just a touch too much emphasis on a process younger than a handful of the people in this thread. That’s not to say I disagree with you on theory that the Primaries are important and should be binding, but this is a unique situation and at the end of the day we’re still ultimately talking about how a private entity, the DNC, conducts its business. I’d hate to see it ever repeat itself and hope it doesn’t, though.

A unique situation OF THEIR OWN DOING!

And as a result they should be punished electorally for it.

There is no outcry from the left to punish the people in charge o the party.

Because right now there’s **** to do before Trump just runs away with the nomination (if he hasn’t already). If you don’t think DNC leadership is going to have to answer for 2024, I think you’re being intentionally naive.
