Big change for tonight, GDT 5/10

Snit knows Albies shouldn't be batting lead off vs RHP, but he juuuust can't quite connect the dots on the correct lineup.

He correctly put Markakis lead off once, but the team didn't score many runs, so that experiment was shelved. There are posters here who think a 1 game sample size isn't very tiny, so they agree with Snit's decision there.

If acuna hits a leadoff hr tonight, it will always be acuna haha

Vs Greinke the Braves kinda suck---

Camargo is 2-8
Flowers is 5-10
Freddie is .136
Inciarte is .158
Joyce is .333 as is Swanson

You want to get Acuña as many ABs as possible and he isn't going to hit third so this makes sense if it's a long haul move.

No, it doesn’t. Swanson doesn’t belong in the 2 hole long term. He has already regressed to the point where his OBP is .330 on the season.

The correct answer vs RHP is Markakis, Acuna, Freeman, JD. The low power high OBP guy bats in front of the best 3 hitters in order of overall effectiveness with platoon balance taken into account. It is very simple.

Mutts open with 8 runs in 1st vs Fish, now lead 11-2 in 7th.

Phiiiies down 2-1 to Royals in 4th

Nats at Dodgers later tonight

“We want to get JD more PAs with men on base, he only has 14 PAs with men in a scoring position”

Gee, I wonder if not putting terrible OBPs in front of him would have helped that at all...

Sorry. Albies is not an issue at leadoff. Eh...it is what it is. I just think you gotta leave the lead off alone...but we will see

The Braves have a .292 OBP from the lead off spot.

You don’t think that’s an issue? You don’t think Markakis with an extra 100 points of OBP would have made a difference?

Albies is not a very good hitter vs RHP, period. You think it’s wise to have a not very good hitter batting lead off?

The correct answer is Markakis vs RHP and Albies vs LHP. It is not complicated.

Someone can check my math, but the difference in a .292 OBP vs a ~.400 OBP over 182 PAs is about 20 base runners.

That’s 20 extra runners on base in front of JD, Freeman and Acuna these poor lineup choices have cost the Braves already this year.
