BJ Backup Plan

Yea if BJ is not going to become an MVP candidate and supplant what we're losing, then I could care less what he does offensively. We will suck all the same.

I was going to go with 'BJ is Plan B' ... but, you know, that's wishful thinking.

I would run BJ out there everyday for the first two months with hopes that Seitzer can get him back to at least some decent form of production. When June rolls around and if he still stinks and the team is competitive, then you have to either bench or release him and bring up one of Toscano, Cunningham or Almonte. If we stink, you release him and find out if we have anything in the other three. Who knows, if somehow he can get it back together, he would be much easier to trade next winter.

Either way, I'd give him two months to either put up or shut up. I'd rather eat the money than for him to continue to be on this team and suck.

I would hit BJ only vs LHP, and hope that he hits well enough vs them to gain some confidence and start becoming a useful player. And then we can trade him and not have to eat much money.
