Bleacher Report Trade ideas?

I'd probably do all 3.

As to why the Astros would want Freeman over Reed, keep in mind that while Reed had a great year in A+ and AA at age 22 this year, Freeman put up a .900 OPS in AAA at age 20. Reed is even more of a stiff than Freeman and not as good defensively. He's intriguing, but there's a reason he didn't make the midseason top-50 list. But if you're throwing Tucker into the deal as well, I'd absolutely do it. It would give us a replacement for Freeman that could be up next year plus our highest-upside bat in the system.

I'll take pretty much anything with promise for Markakis.

And while Soler has some drawbacks, he didn't K at 30% in the minors...it was more like 20%. I'm confident he can bring that down enough to be really productive. He is a bad defender, so he'd likely be a LF, but I'll take that bat. I'd love to get something else as well, and I wouldn't mind throwing in another pitching prospect to get it. Perhaps Teheran + Jenkins for Soler and McKinney? Or Teheran + Sims for Soler and Happ?

I love Sims, but that would add two pretty high-upside bats in the system that can either be in the majors now or at least soon.

Couple things

- Soler is a terrible defender. Strong possibility he is a DH by 30.
- Mark Appel is all hype and no substance. If we trade for him I will just give up baseball because it means we have dip****s in the front office. The only reason he gets any hype anyways is because he is similar to Verlander at the same age but betting on that is like betting on the Washington Generals to beat the Globetrotters.
- I am all for trading Markakis but I dont want the Braves paying a penny to him to play for another team unless we get a good return for him. 3y 33 mill is a bargain.
- I think I have changed my mind on trading Teheran. I think he was just ****ing around this year because he knew we were going nowhere. Greinke did the same **** with the Royals. I think Julio is still good for around a 3.40 ERA give or take some based on luck.

To be fair, in that Freddie trade Appel would be the third best piece. He's still a solid lottery ticket to add if you're also adding two bats like Reed and Tucker.

I just corrected myself a post or two above. Not sure where I got that in my head.. but I reported it without fact checking myself..
