BP Top 101 Prospects

Just giving you hard time, man.

No, it doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Beane really went for it last year. I guess you can't assume this (or stupid) but dumb trades do happen.

I figured. The Dodgers are in a unique position where they can parlay current productivity over the future because they have no budget. They are probably one of the few.

Beane really blew his wad. I wish the Braves could have gotten in on that hot panic'd trade action.

Other top prospects traded over the years include Cameron Maybin, Jesus Montero, Marte, Andrus, Carlos Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez. There are probably more that I haven't thought of. It is not common. But not rare either.

Since I feel chatty, Why were the Cubs who have IFs galore, able to snag a top 20 prospect for pitching in a pitching saturated market? And we were unloading position players with pop for not top 20 players? What does that say about the climate?

Doesn't matter as much how they rank now as prospects but how they perform as major leaguers after reaching The Show.

What I gather from that list is its FAR from a given a top 20 prospect pans out. More tickets to the lotto I guess...

Would you have given the Braves a top 20 prospect for anyone we traded?

Upton or Heyward, assuming I planed on offering either an extension. For a rental? Not likely unless I was the Dodgers or someone in that position.
