BR names FF #1 amoung 1B men

It's been a great year for Freeman, no doubt. It's a shame it was wasted in a rebuilding year. He'd be a MVP candidate on a team that sniffed the playoffs.

hard to argue with his numbers this year..

He's really answered the criticisms of many, including myself, quite expertly.

I for one need a double helping of crow. I was in the horsehide camp of trading him for prospects. We would have woefully under sold freeman if we did that last season. I applaud coppy for recognizing freeman for what he is and taking a stand to say he is not tradable.

If the Braves had traded him for what I suggested, I would still be OK with it. I floated Freeman to Houston for Bergman (pre status explosion), Tucker, Fisher and JD Davis.

I never said trade Freeman just to be rid of Freeman. But would still trade him for the right return due to the timing of the rebuild since I have no faith that any attempt to compete next year is just window dressing for the masses.

I wasn't saying you were giving him away but more that you and I had the same line of thinking last off season we needed to trade all major assets for a complete overhaul. I am glad we didn't trade freeman.
