@Braves RHP Brandon Cunniff was placed on the 15-day DL today w/a right groin strain. RHP Sugar Ray Marimon recalled from @GwinnettBraves.

Hope Cunniff makes it back at some point. Despite his wildness, he has some upside in his arm. Strikes out a lot of guys and looks like he has potential to get lefties and righties out (once the BABIP normalizes).

Marimon is plain awful. I don't even care to call him Sugar Ray. He doesn't deserve that nickname/realname.

Real name. Really.

My God what the hell is it with bringing up this bum time after time? Damn are we ignorant or what? The guy has proven over and over he is downright terrible, yet we keep bringing his dead ass back up. Meanwhile we have several guys like David Carpenter, Ryan Weber and Ryan Kelly pitching lights out rotting in AAA. Damn Sugar Ray must have some serious incriminating **** on our FO, cause this BS makes no sense at all.

As much as I don't like the move, I understand the reasoning. We needed a long man after Aardsma was deemed unavailable today or tomorrow and Marimon can provide that. Other things to consider..

1. He is already on the 40-man roster
2. Capable of going multiple innings
3. The only way we see him will be in a blow out (either way) or extra innings (last option)

So as much as I'm in favor of giving one of the other guys a shot, I can see (not agree) the Braves reasoning behind bringing him up.

The thing that Fredi really likes about Sugar Ray Marimon is his ability to go more than one inning.

Hell I can pitch more than one inning, but you don't see them bringing me up. Who gives a damn if he can go multiple innings when he sucks.

My problem is this.. Why not bring up Carpenter, Kelly, Weber, or Kohn and if you go thru your bullpen then make a move the next day.

Oh, I agree. It was just a goof on something Chip said in Jim Johnson's first two or three appearances of the year.
