Braves acquire Gausman + O'Day from Orioles for Zimmermann, Cumberland, Phillips, JCE

Alright, lets whip the **** outta the NL East from here on out.

We have like 9 guys that will make starts for us til Sept. Wow.

I read he was trying to throw softer for better aim this year. Orioles have trash staff so he might take off with a real pitching coach.

Ramos was a great addition for the Phillies, but we have no excuse to not be more competitive. Really good job by AA. I’m highly impressed.

According to FG's In-Season updated board: https://www.fangraphs.com/scoutboard.aspx?draft=&type=&pos=&team=atl

JCE (FV 40+) = $10M
Cumberland (FV 45+) = ~$15M
Phillips (FV 40) = ~$5M
Zimmermann (FV 35) = fodder

Total = $30M+.

O'Day carries some amount of negative value in the range of $5M-$10M, and the $2.5M in pool money carries some positive value in the $5M-$10M range.

I have Gausman with roughly $45M in surplus value.

Chalk up another win for the surplus value model. Kudos to AA for getting another quantity over quality deal done for an MLB asset.

I always manage to forget that JCE is 20. He’s only 9 months younger than Austin Riley and 1 month younger than Ronald Acuña. He’s not old for single A, but he’s not exactly ahead of the curve, either.

Finally remembered my password after two days (actually more like a week).

What an awesome trade. I do wish we could have kept JCE, but we are getting an MLB starter for him and the other guys is pretty great.

That's even without the contender premium, right? I'm pretty happy about that.

Considering Pittsburgh including Meadows which is probably a Wright or Soroka from the Braves prospective and this is the right move.

And get O'Day for next year as well.

Kept Muller, Fried, Touki, Wentz, Allard, Wright, Soroka, Anderson,Wilson, and Pache, Contreras, Waters, Riley. Farm is still in fantastic shape, good job AA.

AA added Duvall, Venters, Brach, Gausman, all needs, and barely hurt the farm, hard to complain.
