Braves acquire Joe Jimenez from Detroit

Agreed, we can’t offer him a QO, he’d no doubt take it. I think avoiding arbitration with something like a year 3 year 22M deal might be smart.

I could see us try to sign him to a team-friendly extension if he'd take it. Not sure the years/numbers.

This bullpen has gotten into the “best in baseball- and best in damn long time” rare air.

There are no shaky pieces anywhere anymore. Can’t remember one this good to be honest.
We have like four guys now that can close, and should be able to lock down every lead after the fifth inning every single night. Will we ? Of course not, that’s impossible, but this has gotten amazing. Every year we upgrade, and now I think this pen is an AA masterpiece. Just get em a lead and call the valet for your car.

Very generous to assume Snit can properly manage everyone's work load.

I have to agree. How’s Malloy been doing this spring?

I don’t think that well either. Not really following. I just hated going after a one year rental that is a BP arm which is very volatile. Plenty of spring to hopefully get JJ right. Just not a fan right now.

He's hitting .111 but even trading for a BP arm with one good year was risky. Even if Malloy flops, not a good use of resources.

I didn't think anyone was quicker on the trigger forecasting success/failure on small samples than me, but maybe not.... we bout halfway through ST

I think it's more about the one good year prior to last year as opposed to anything going on this spring. I think it's a defensible deal and we'll wait and see (like we always do).

I like the Luetge deal less. Durbin was/is likely a AA-ceiling guy, but it wasn't too long ago we thought Indigo Diaz was going to be somebody.

I think the group of Pillar, White, Wall, Hilliard is as likely to provide a good OF as Malloy would have.

Well, Malloy is supporting a .500 OBP and .950 OPS
walking more than striking out..

JJ is.. well you can fill the blank if you want.

AA is usually good for one stinker per offseason (Hamels, Ozuna, Rosario). Looks like this one is the leader in the clubhouse for the 2023 honors.

1 XBH in 46 PAs. That's a pretty empty BA.

I am not too worried about his hit tool... that has always been pretty good. To me, the BB/K rate is looking good for a guy in AAA trying to break into the league. Showing good plate awareness always gives you the advantage.

I'm sure AA will trade a position guy that pans out for someone sooner or later, but he hasn't so far. And langeliers, waters, and pache were more thought of than Malloy
