Braves Acquire Matt Adams From Cardinals

This trade makes little sense to me, why give up a 19 year old top 25 prospect in a deep system just so you can have a "legit" 1B for two months in a lost year?

Whoa. Yepez is not that special. We can flip Adams for another yepez at the deadline. Yepez is terrible at 3B. So we traded a so so 1B prospect for a legit MLB 1B player. This is a good trade.

I can see both sides. Braves probably feel that Yepez won't be able to stick defensively at 3B and won't hit enough to play 1B. I'm not an Adams fan by any means, but he's a decent bench piece for when Freeman returns. Can we finally release Bonifacio now?

Interesting trade. I think the cost is fair, though I'm probably not as high on Yepez as some given it's hard to see where he plays defensively.

He will be a 1B. 8 errors at 3rd already this year. Wondering how much cash is coming to offset salary. I hope they trade Adams when FF is healthy. He has no versatility and would be just a DH/pinch hitter.

I have no complaints. Big lefty hitter who can hold the fort down until Freddie comes back. Who knows, if Adams plays well, perhaps he gets traded for another good prospect at the deadline.

Neither are jace and loney

I only watch highlights unless it's a free game and it's pretty obvious that Jace hasn't played much 1B. People think you can throw any slug over there and he'll field the position with no problem. Lots of footwork issues around the bag and some other little quirks that make it tricky.
