Braves Acquire Mauricio Dubon For Nick Allen

Some are saying Dubon will be starting SS full time.

I think he’s going to be the utility guy that will be used to rest guys around the infield.

Perhaps Weiss will actually deploy this load management that Snit wouldn’t do. We may very well still get a SS

Everyone say hello to the 2026 SS. Underwhelming guy to be in the lineup everyday. Being an upgrade over Allen is still a below average player.

it is only underwhelming if they don't improve elsewhere. If they get a legit bat to rotate through the OF then it doesn't suck as much.. If this is the biggest position get, then yeah, I am right there with you!

AA got a good utility player and some leverage in potential deals for a good SS because now he has a fallback option. All it cost was Nick Allen and pocket change.

was my thought.. but then I saw Allen is way cheaper (league mini vs 5 mill last year) and Dubon only has 2 years of arb control left where Allen is controlled for 4 more years.
Yeah but they now control a guy with a .500 OPS. I would’ve thought Allen was a candidate for DFA, not trade currency for a really nice ML utility player. Guess they really wanted out from under the $5M.

Oh well. Nice move, AA. I must say, I like this one better than the Rockies lefty with the 7.02 ERA.

The nice thing about Dubon is he can play everywhere. That's something we didn't have most of last year, and allows us perhaps to be able to trade Nacho.
