Braves acquire RHP Touki Toussaint & Bronson Arroyo for Filthy Phil Gosselin

So...top 50 prospect for Gosselin?

I'm officially a Posibrave.(note I am aware Toussiant is not yet a top 50 prospect but he's got the age and stuff to be on there if his results improve in the minors- and I suspect they will under our system tutelage)

DOB's wording in his original tweet on the trade was horrific, made it seem like the Braves were also getting a draft pick.

If this team can manage to stay in contention Arroyo is an intriguing late season arm.

THis was said of Toussiant "2014 first-rounder, amazing athlete with mid-90s heat and one of the best curveballs to come out of the high school ranks since Bert Blyleven. He’s raw and could develop into anything from a number one starter to a Double-A burnout, but an awful lot of fun to watch."

During the 14 draft, @BaseballAmerica said Toussaint had "arguably the highest ceiling of any high school pitcher." Stuff is insane.

lol to say DBack fans on twitter are upset is an understatement.

Jesus, what a great deal.

Per MLB Pipeline

Scouting grades: Fastball: 65 | Curveball: 65 | Changeup: 55 | Control: 45 | Overall: 55

A native of Haiti who came to the United States at age six and didn't really start playing baseball seriously until he was 11, Toussaint might have been the most athletic high school pitcher in the 2014 Draft class. He also might have as much, if not more, upside potential as any in that crop.

Toussaint's fastball will sit in the low 90s with a lot of movement, and he can reach back for more at times. His mid-70s curveball was one of the best breaking pitches in the Class of 2014, one that had so much break that high school pitchers had difficulty holding onto it. He's shown feel for a changeup and a willingness to throw it, though it's not as effective as his first two options. Command has been an issue for Toussaint, both in high school and during his pro debut, but his athleticism - he was one of the better hitters in the Florida high school ranks - should allow him to learn to repeat his delivery more consistently.

It might take Toussaint a while to get there, but the payoff could be huge. With patience, the D-backs could have another potential frontline starting pitcher in their system.

Loved Toussaint coming out last year. One of my top five pitchers. Mishandled in Arizona going to org bad at development.

If your team is hurting on talent, call the #Dbacks. They're practically giving first round picks away.
