Braves And A's Discussing J. Upton And Gattis?

Didn't mean to post another thread about this trade, just posted it at the same time as the other. Please you the other thread, as it's creator was first. Thanks guys and sorry to CrimsonCowboy.

If we're trading both Justin Upton and Gattis in the same deal, then we better get back a lot!

Not just a lot of pitching either!

It'd be nice to have five study arms in the rotation.

It'd be even nicer to score more than five runs a week.

Seriously, why the **** are we talking about trading Upton for pitching?

Just my two cents: I think it would be beneficial to add another arm who is capable of being an ace. I think that a rotation of (Lester/Samardzija)/Teheran/Wood/Miller/Minor would take a ton of pressure off the offense. I also think we should go after high .OPB guys for our offense and guys that can steal bases and wreak havoc on the base paths. Just my opinion though.

Not sure what it matters of not, but I seem to recall the Braves have had interest in Smaradzija before.

They certainly did.. big time interest at that. Going back to what was earlier said about a third team.. I would love to get Smaradzija (only if an extension is signed right away) and Adam Eaton (could play LF until B.J is no longer the CF)

The absolute only way I see us dealing both Upton and Gattis to the A's would be for Sonny Gray! Gray would be that TOR guy the Braves have been looking for.

I wish the trade would go down already. I am ready to go to bed but I know that as soon as I do, the trade will happen! :)

Well then there's nothing and I mean NOTHING else I'd want from Oakland! The Braves would be stupid to trade with them!

I am in the same exact boat.

It's sad. I've got Twitter and MLB Trade Rumors both open while checking in here in Chop Country.

It was so bad I had to go look up my password for this site. It's been that long since I've posted!

I pray that this is to try and get the Mariners to give up more in a deal cause Oakland has nothing that I'd want besides Sonny Gray!

One tweet I read suggested a three-team deal.

Carlos Gonzalez to the Braves
Jeff Samardzija to the Rockies
Justin Upton to the A's.

While a three-team deal is possible, how does that make sense for ANY of those teams?

You have to love Hot Stove rumors.

What about the Red Sox's becoming the 3rd team?? They need the pitching and have the prospects. A deal could look something like this:

Oakland- Justin Upton and Evan Gattis
Boston- Jeff Smardzija, John Jaso and Fernando Abad
Braves- Allen Craig, Henry Owens/Anthony Ranaudo, and Garin Checchini

The A's and Braves have 8 minutes to make a trade, and then I am going to bed. Come on guys, get this thing done!

I just don't see us matching up. Samardzija is great but makes no sense when he's a free agent after this year.
