Braves And A's Discussing J. Upton And Gattis?

If we trade Upton, I'd rather deal with Seattle. I really like Peterson and Walker or Paxton would be nice.

I wonder how much we could extract from Seattle in an Upton trade. Aside from Walker, they have a couple flawed-but-intriguing position players who could fill positions of need for us at a time when we have plenty of opportunities to provide those sorts of guys with playing time.

How about Walker, Brad Miller and Michael Saunders for Upton? Maybe include Carpenter if Seattle likes him.

This is why we should have kept Walden.

I didnt get trading him on top of Heyward.

Agreed. I think Hart was so intent on adding pitching- ANY PITCHING- to the organization that he threw in Walden just to get Jenkins. The problem wasn't that it was so incredibly important to hold on to Jordan Walden, it's that he had more value than a sore-armed former first-round pick, however much the front office might love Jenkins' potential.

Huh? Walden isn't a big loss. Making some serious $, and very replaceable

All your posts are negative, like you can be talking.

Wow, you have some nerve calling him "negative" or anyone else "negative nancy" as you often do. As negative as you are most of the time about the Braves and the way you act like the Nationals sh-t don't stink. Furthermore, you and Niners might as well be tag-team partners the way you two have both been posting of late. Plus you try calling me out like a candy arss about my take on the A's trade of Donaldson and then go and use my own argument later on in this very thread. Again you have some nerve.

That said, Niners is at least honest and not such a hypocrite like you are. Now back to ignoring you for me.

I love Peter Gammons -- although I rarely trust anything he posts anymore.

Peter Gammons
@pgammo
With the White Red, Red Sox, Rangers, others talking Samadzija, AL GM says "there is no way he will sign and not go to free agency."

Not to mention the Braves had just acquired Vizcaino who will take Walden's spot in the bullpen and is much cheaper.

That is likely if Viz can finally stay healthy, etc. Hopefully that is the case. I always liked Vizcaino, it is a shame about the injuries costing him so much time.

Walden is not a sure thing to avoid injury himself though.

LOL so what could we of offered the A's to pray away Donaldson something that i would have tried.

Walden posted a sub-3 ERA last year, im not saying he cant be replaced but trading a 5-6 WAR player albeit for one year at least on top of Walden for just Miller/Jenkins was overkill.

I didn't like trading Walden either but he is making 3 mill this year and probably 5 mill next year. That's too much for a reliever that has surpassed 50 innings once. He was never healthy come playoff time anyways.

The thought of Vavaro and Carpenter being the main setup men scares the **** out of me but if healthy I think Vizcaino can be a great setup man. He has closer stuff and I think his control will improve.
