Braves donate Justin Upton to Padres for prospects

I'm going to guess that the O's trade for Seth Smith from the Padres once the Kemp and Myers trades are finalized. That will effectively remove all suitors for JUp other than SF and maybe Tex.
 
Hart needs to continue to show patience here. If you don't trade him then fine. There's still the trade deadline when teams in contention become desperate. In my best Hart voice... look, a top round pick for Upton isn't the worst thing in the world. Plus who the hell knows? Maybe we actually compete this season. We have a good rotation, a promising bullpen and a good top 5 in the batting order.

Can't imagine the A's will keep all this pitching. Have to think they're prepping for a bigger move, like an Upton or Tulowitzki.
 
This is just a gut feeling and nothing more, but I think a deal is coming with either Texas or Oakland, with the A's perhaps the more likely of the two. I don't see Seattle as a match, especially since they seem hesitant to deal Walker and Saunders has already been dealt.

It is sounding more like Oakland because Texas has reportedly only shown interest in Upton to flip him (three-team trade) and prefer Gattis. Plus Oakland must be planning to move some of all their pitching. If it is Oakland I'd be interested in a package headlined by Jarrod Parker, I know he is coming off Tommy John but he should be ready early on based on when he started throwing.
 
Jarrod Parker makes so much sense and it makes no sense. The right guy on the wrong team.

Remind me why Oakland would be interested? Is Billy a drunk playing fantasy football?
 
I think Wren is playing the Rangers and Mariners against each other. If Seattle adds Justin they can start printing NLDS tickets. Maybe they add more just to keep him from going to the other team. I think it's going to be the Rangers.
