Should have plenty of money to throw at Turner on a short deal or some BP guys

Yeah, a little long. I am optimistic that he outperforms his contract (especially the next two years). This is what the Braves needed to do. Our strongest teams should be the next few years (while young guys are still making less and Freddie is still in his prime).

Brings payroll in just a hair over $140 million.

Actually thought about how well Mazara would look as a flyer candidate earlier . Wouldn’t bat an eye lash at that

Really works out well - only paying him bigger money when you don't need him to play defense.

Really wonder if that doesn't leave room to upgrade Almonte to Mazara, Camargo and Mayfield two of to Shaw/Holt/Cabrera/Miller/Villar and Jackson and/or Dayton to two of Melancon/Greene/Petit/Kela/Kintzler.

Feels like he is scrambling to us because we don’t know what is going on in the background. So far, it appears AA knows what he is doing. Doesn’t seem to be scrambling.

Yup. If Ozuna established a new baseline performance, you effectively lock yourself into a team friendly contract. If he regresses back to St Louis Ozuna, then pre-Covid market rate contract.

A good gamble worth taking.

Well besides Freddie (who will sign back)....everyone is locked up besides Dansby .

With Ozuna only making $12m this season, I wonder if AA has something else up his sleeve. Does he circle back to Turner? With the Dodgers so far over the luxury tax, do they still re-sign him?

If we get word that the DH will be back around spring training, I bet AA goes and gets him.
