Braves Extend Sale

I am sure there is 27 million reason a 38 year old would act in good faith. Imagine offering everyone you really wanted to keep above market contracts.
Oh, so, hypothetically there wouldn’t be 28 million reasons for a 32 year old to act in good faith? That only occurs when it’s 27 million AAV?

Here’s a better fucking idea: always act in good faith and don’t be a little bitch.

I'm guessing the Sale extension and tv deal had something to do with each other. They probably have a pretty close number to want they'll make in tv revenue and after this year they'll have a lot more clarity moving forward giving us more to spend in FA.

Very unfortunate they would let the uncertainty of the tv deal linger long enough to prevent AA from making further investments in this year’s payroll.

I highly the organization intentionally “let the uncertainty […] linger” in some sort of orchestrated or willful act. Much more likely: the uncertainty lingered, and perhaps metastasized into a major impediment, whilst they tried to navigate, and eventually fully pivot, once the depths of the prior tv deal’s collapse came to light.

It’s still reasonable to be disappointed the FO hasn’t done more to add SP depth. But I think it’s pretty disingenuous to imagine the organization saying, “You know, let’s see how long we can let this tv bullshit flutter aimlessly in the breeze.”

I think something happened to where everything just stopped mid-January. I don’t they did it intentionally, but I don’t see anything other reason to totally abandon logic on constructing the rest of the roster.
