Dansby is going to be a situation. I think he’s eligible for arb next year and as a number one pick he got a signing bonus. Plus controlling him for 2 extra years would push FA into his 30s.on the other hand he’s good but certainly less valuable than Acuna and probably behind Ozzie.

I've actually been impressed with just how articulate Ozzie has been in his English interviews. He seems like a really smart kid for his age, emphasis on age.

Yeah. Also, I'm actually not sure how impoverished Ozzie's background really is. Curacao has a relatively high standard of living and they are 27th in the world in nominal GDP per capita. Its hard to know how well off his family was, but I doubt his situation was nearly as bad as Acuna's or what one would expect from a caribbean baseball player.

The Braves would have gave in I’m sure but why would they offer more when they knew they could get it for less? If you went to buy a new car and they offered to sell it to you for half price are you gonna demand to pay sticker?

Albies and Acuna are 21 year olds with questionable command of the English language who aren't attuned to the realities of anything.

Their agents cashed in while they could, even if it meant scuttling the earning potential of these guys.

Ozzie speaks better English than a lot of people I know thar are American. Just as proficient if not better than Andruw's.

The guy has what a little under a full season at the ML level. He’s going to make a minimum of 35 million in 7 seasons. Still very young and has plenty of room to improve. In real life you don’t get those kinds of raises for not being amazing at your job. Yep count me in the crowd of those saying this is weak deal for Albies.
