Braves fire Seitzer and assistant hitting coach. Also Fasano.

We obviously never know what's going on behind the scenes, and I don't want to overreact when the impact of coaches is pretty ambiguous and hard to quantify. But man, that's a tough beat for Seitzer -- getting fired one year after his guys set records for offensive potency, following a season in which just about every major contributor suffered significant injuries.

2nd in the league in HRs, but also 3rd in Ks. Slightly below league average in BA and OBP, but above in SLG and OPS. Mixed bag to which the injuries obviously contributed. I thought he generally did a good job at getting guys back on track after a slump. But as the above posters have said either directly or indirectly, somebody's got to take the fall. Just ask Robert Saleh.

I think it is more like what State said. singular approach that when it fails, he had no answers. I don't feel like digging the numbers, but from eye test and watching, Braves hitters were pretty much guess hitters with zero pitch recognition.

I am actually glad there will be new coaches.. just hope AA will get to decide and not include all the legacy holdovers that won't leave this damn org..

I knew somebody would get the ax. The approach is terrible and something had to change. I’m sure they already have somebody in mind.
 
A little surprising given the injuries. I know a bunch of other guys underperformed as well. But maybe AA views this as a way to inject some fresh blood into the franchise and potentially hire someone more analytically driven.

Agreed. My guess is the new hitting coach will be more analytically focused.

And probably younger.
 
Not totally surprising. Good hitting team in the regular season but the last 3 seasons in the playoffs, the bats just went ice cold. Someone had to take the blame, guess we'll see who AA has in mind here.

I think AA wants another manager to but doesnt wanna step on toes and tarnish Snit in any way. 2025 will be Snits last year.
 
Coaches in general are overrated in MLB, but scapegoating and knee jerk reactions is something unserious franchises do.
