Braves interested in CK and DK

I understand why we’d want Kimbrel for the pen but I’m not quite sure what our plan would be for Keuchel in the rotation. Go 6 man?

AA coming out and saying they have interest in both is huge. I’ve been saying this whole time that I think they have a deal in play with CK and are just waiting till June 4th to make it official. If we can somehow get Will Smith from SF then the Braves are gonna be super dangerous

I don't want Keuchel.

Can't we just trade for Bumgarner and then try to keep him here for another 3-4 years? Perfect type of guy at the perfect time. I'm not expecting anything other than a high end 3 or a low 2 but he would be great to have around the kids.

I mean, from a value standpoint they are pretty similar pitchers so why would we want to give up the prospects AND money to get Bumgarner when we could just get Keuchel for the money? Plus if I had to guess, I'd bet that we could get Keuchel for a more team friendly deal than Bumgarner as well.

I don't want either one of them, but it seems that Keuchel would definitely be the preferable option.

I still think that Bumgarner has more left in the tank. Giants have been dreadful lately so its hard to kill Bumgarner for the last two years in addition to his 'odd' injuries.

I get your value standpoint question but getting an efficient $ per war should not be the overarching decision maker anymore with all this young talent and the two biggest pieces locked up.

The only reason I like Bumgarner is because he play many times against the Dodgers. We always have trouble against them.

Radio during the giants' game in which bumgarner started was discussing him. They said Frenchy is good friends with bumgarner so he could be biased, but frenchy thinks bumgarner will have an effect with his new team like Verlander had at Houston.

I want all of that K/BB ratio he is putting up this season.

Make a package of Gausman/Duvall/Wentz and hope that is the high point of other offers that are made. I certainly am not in favor of giving up one of our premier prospects (Touki/Pache/Waters/Anderson/Muller/VV/Contreras/Wilson) since the farm is getting thin real quick with all the promotions happening lately. But if you get into the playoffs and you have Folty/Bumgarner/Soroka/Fried then you are certainly in the conversation about winning the whole thing. Yes, I understand the crap shoot aspect to the playoffs but I'm still going to feel better about a team with a starting rotation like that.

I think there are rare times when all the pieces align to where it makes sense to go 'in'. Right now we are in one of those times and Bumgarner is not someone that you are going to have to break the bank for in terms of prospect value to give up for him.

This is certainly not a roster efficient thought but I honestly think we owe it to Freeman. That man has been an incredible spokesperson for the organization and is one of the greatest players to ever put on the uniform. He signed his extension when he EASILY could have just played the arby game and cash out with a MONSTER deal. Lets reward that type of gestures and open the window even sooner so Freeman can enjoy it during his prime.

Make it happen AA but most importantly make it happen LIBERTY. You can't make this trade and then not extent.

I haven't been this excited about a team since Heywards rookie season!

I'm a fan of the first option. Bumgarner is the most impactful player out of that grouping.

I wouldn’t want Bumgarner. No sense paying the money he’s going to want for his declining years, and having to cough up prospects to get him. If we can sign Keuchel to a team friendly 1-2 year deal, do it. But nothing more.
