Braves interested in Samardzija or Hammel?

lol based on what? The fact that he doesn't pitch for us?

Could ask you the same thing. Minor is better because he pitches on the Braves.

I watch baseball and it's not hard to see which pitcher is better. The clear homerism on here is laughable.

Minor's track record is closer to him pitching poorly. Last season was a fluke. He isn't nearly that good.

What?
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
I'd love for you to demonstrate in anyway how Samardjiza has been great and Minor "mostly poor." Or if Samaradjiza is great, how Minor isn't as well, considering they've been very similar.
You can't, and you won't. But figured I'd ask.

Ok, so demonstrate how Samardjiza is great and Minor isn't. Please. It's so easy and clear, so do it.

Samardzija would only be fun ti see people spell his name wrong.

He's a soiid but not spectacular starter. No reason to trade Minor for him. Samardzija is a 3.40-3.50 SIERA pitcher, Minor is usually a 3.50-3.80 guhy. So yes Samarzija so far in his career has been better than Minor but not by that much and consdiering he's a FA and Minor is under control for 3 years longer, that makes it an absolute duh decision. Not to mention the ceiling discussion, Samardzija is 29, odds are we've seen the best of him Minor is still developing.

We have the 3rd best rotation in the NL most likely. There is room to improve but replacing Floyd/Harang with Wood does that. Minor has also been disappointing so far but we've seen him struggle then turn it on in the past.

Still think we need one more good one for the playoffs. But like I said, it's not near as big of a need as bullpen and bench right now.

Samardzija is older, closer to FA, and very comparable to a guy we have under control for 3 more years and is 2+ years younger.
Getting rid of Minor for Samardzija is something bad organizations do. Glad that won't be happening.

edit: He is, in fact, almost 3 years younger. Somehow Samardzija is an ace and Minor is "mostly poor."

I mean having one more starter would be nice if someone was givnig one away, but that doesn't happen.

Assuming health and no one tanking a PS rotation of Julio, Minor, Ervin, and Wood is fantastic. Even if we use Floyd as our 4 and put Wood in the pen that's a heck of a team.

We don't need another starter with Wood getting ready. We need Freeman to start hitting again. If he was hitting even a little better we have 2 more wins right now.

If Gattis has a higher batting average than Freeman for much longer, it might throw the earth of its axis and kill us all.

Freeman is fine.

He's hitting more line drives than last year, but a 70 poitn lower BABIP.

From what I've seen the last month he has been bad. He was so phenomenal in the first 3 weeks of the season that his numbers are still respectable.

We need bench and bullpen help more than another starter. We really need to get another decent outfielder just in case BJ is still sucking at the end of the year. If he is and we make the playoffs we can then move Heyward to center, Justin to right and the new outfielder to left. I know we could possibly use Doumit for this situation but his defense is so crappy in the field and Schafer isn't a consistent enough hitter for playoff time.
