Braves Meeting with Lester

So, if they trade JUp then the only offense we have is Freeman and Gattis (when he doesn't get hit by a butterfly and go on the DL)....yikes

BJ? LMAO
CJ? maybe he regains form from 2 years ago but doubtful
Simba? Great defense, anemic bat
Gosselin? Makes contact but won't matter because no one will be on base in front of him
Bethancourt? nope

Oh wait, we have Terdoslavich! WOOT - World Series here we come

Maybe all the pitchers we are going to gather will play the field as well.

#Cardinals have joined the Red Sox, Cubs and Braves in pursuit of Jon Lester according to a club source which makes sense after Miller trade

Dont see us signing him unless he took a discount.

Money is there with BJ possibly dealt, and Uggla/Justin off the books next year.

Although i'd like to extend JUp if possible however.

I also wouldnt trade Minor given his value is at an all-time low right now.

There are several ways this could get done, first of all, I believe they're trading Justin Upton and that free up another 14 and 5 million bucks, that coupled with money freed up yesterday in the Heyward trade and the fact you can backload heading into the stadium all makes its very possible. Also if he wants to play here badly enough he might take less money to do it.

If Upton's gone, too, how in the hell does that make sense from Lester's perspective? He'd be giving the Braves some sort of discount, necessarily, to come to a team whose offense might not even win him ten games next season.

#Braves will meet with Jon Lester, and I'm told it's legit, w/ strong mutual interest. Could fit ATL

Trading Heyward makes no sense if they end up signing him which is still very unlikely.

If ramadon is right, then it's probably the right move.

220-250 million for Heyward is crazy.

If they arent offering near that of course.

I'm not saying I think signing Lester is the best use of our money but I feel more comfortable giving big money to a proven ace that's one of the best post season pitchers in baseball.
