Braves moves

He pitched last night.

Nice! Haven’t paid attention to the minors in a couple days. Missed that.

Looks like he struggled tho. Even though it’s not his throwing hand, could still be bothering him. Don’t think he’ll be called up but I guess it’s possible.

Anderson needed this. He needs to work on the 3rd pitch and get his head back on straight.

With his arm slot a third pitch will be tough to find. Straight over the top makes things like sliders, two seamers, and cutters difficult. A curve would be absolutely ideal but his spin rate is abysmal making it unlikely he'll ever have an effective curve.

I just don't know what Anderson can really do to improve at this point. It's why I expect he'll eventually end up in the pen.

DOB says plan is to keep Anderson on the taxi squad for the week and start one of the doubleheader games at Miami. So we're sending a guy down to get right because he's hurting our chances in MLB games, but we're going to let him start another MLB game first?

And we kept him on the roster yesterday when we could have gone ahead and optioned him and had the extra pitcher, but we're optioning him today because we "need" the extra pitcher for a two-game series at Boston with two off days coming up?

Didn't watch the game, but from the boxscore, it looked more like bad batted-ball luck, as he posted 5/1/1 K/BB/HR in his 4.2 IP. With Muller, I think the biggest thing to watch is that walk-rate, which has remained in a good spot this season.

Why is Elder still up. He can’t be used after yesterday. Bring up anyone else who could possibly be available to throw.

And why was Anderson for Ynoa not done yesterday. Seems stupid not to have that extra arm yesterday. Someone sleeping in the FO.

And then the braves kept Acuna out of the game until late in which he came in and played defense. The braves' FO seems to be slipping

Once TDA is back we should keep Tromp up and move Contreras into the #2 catcher/Primary DH role and start just giving Ozuna starts on days Contreras needs a day off.

The Braves made a flurry of roster moves in the minors today. Those earning promotions were Darius Vines going to from MS to Gwinnett, Geraldo Quintero going from Augusta to Rome, Javier Valdes going from Rome To MS, and Brandon Parker going from Rome to MS.

Augusta needs a C/2B/3B/RF/DH and 3-4 arms so I imagine some more promotions are coming from the FCL

With the influx of draftees onto the FCL roster, there's a surplus of guys and I imagine they are going to want to get the new guys all the ABs they can before the season ends in two weeks. Full season leagues run a week past Labor Day, which is a departure from the past. Problem is, the guys who will likely be joining Augusta from the FCL (if it is indeed the guys who were there prior to the draft) are middling prospects.

Braves optioned Anderson and Heredia to Gwinnett and called up Tromp and Ynoa

Hopefully part of the reason Heredia was sent to AAA was to ramp him up so he can platoon with Harris starting in September. Snit really needs to stop letting Harris face LHP soon.
