Braves near deal with Cuban prospect Bello

I didn't single anyone out, just pointing out, it took a turn for the weird, you just happened to be the last post.

I think everyone here is a wee bit hungover from last night and just needs a bit of the hair of the dog.

Hungover from last night? I'm still drinking:dance:

This seems like a move to cover Bethancourt. I'm thinking Laird is hurting pretty bad.

Yea we have Gattis who hit 21 home runs in only 105 games last year, whom we have under control for another 5 years, plus Bethancourt who is one of our top prospects. I can't imagine this guy having much chance at all to surpass either of those.

Gattis could flop.

And CB's lack of hitting concerns are possible.

Nothing wrong with depth.

And Laird is a FA after this year, so that too.

I never knew she played catcher. It will be difficult for the batters to concentrate with her behind the plate.

You didn't know she played catcher?

I guess I've had personal experience with her.

Giving a lifetime deal to a player who hasn't spent a day in the majors? Ridiculous.

Livan Hernandez recruited him here, told him that the Braves were a top notch organization, and apparently we had the best post game buffet in the business.

Damn Livan! I feel bad we released you! (We shouldn't have that year anyways, he wasn't pitching that bad).

Kinda excited to see him in camp. His power seems pretty legit. Exactly the kind of guy that Wren & Company have a pretty impressive track record of hitting on - EOF/Carpenter/Garcia/etc. - could be a *elluva pickup if Laird's injury lingers, and could conceivably allow for Gattis or Bethancourt to be included in a later deal if they eventually decide to make a move for an "Ace".
