You think that play was routine? Seriously? If Acuna could make routine plays, it's 2-1, which is still insurmountable

xBA of .040You think that play was routine? Seriously?
xBA is just the likelihood of a ball being a hit based on EV and launch angle.. not the probability a fielder can catch it. It was perfectly placed.. I didn't really see Acuna's jump, but his route wasn't off or at least not horrible and it looked like he was running pretty hard to the spot (didn't look for sprint speed on it).. I think it was just a shitty Mets luck hit that sucks for Schwelly.xBA of .040

Actually I did watch the game, and even Fran pointed out the poor jump.Msstate doesn’t actually watch the games, he just follows along on Gameday.
I mean you can say that, but it is not really true so far. He is above average as of right now. Not saying it will last, but he needs to be playing in RF right now, with the occasional day off somehow.Actually I did watch the game, and even Fran pointed out the poor jump.
Jeez, it's ok to say Acuna is poor defender while at the same time still being the best player on this team.

You're gonna get run by not saying Acuna is a great defender and jhey in his prime couldn't have caught that.It was a poor jump. That play had a 75% catch probability though and Acuna had to run 110 feet to get there.
It wasn't routine by any means. But this just shows you that getting a good jump is the most important ability for an outfielder in terms of good defense. It can overcome lack of speed quite a bit.
You called it a routine play dude. Just take the L and move on.You're gonna get run by not saying Acuna is a great defender and jhey in his prime couldn't have caught that.
Uhhh.... Francoeur.Who?
And again, even considering a "poor jump" (which is debatable) he's still well above average in speed. If you think the average RF is making that a "routine play" from the same position in the OF, then you need to lay off the dope.

040 xBA has nothing to do with the difficulty of a play..040 xBA
75% catch prob
That's routine imo
it's at the bottom range of 3-Star. If it wasn't "routine", well it certainly wasn't difficult. I would be surprised if more than 6 MLB RF don't make that catch.040 xBA has nothing to do with the difficulty of a play.
75% catch probability is a 3 star play. Routine plays are 1 star plays in the 90+ catch probability. Just take the L man
Except he’s grading out about average this year.Actually I did watch the game, and even Fran pointed out the poor jump.

Grab the 6 pack and get them iced down.. We need to let this one go and start stretching for our Riley/Harris/Ozzie bitching later on..it's at the bottom range of 3-Star. If it wasn't "routine", well it certainly wasn't difficult. I would be surprised if more than 6 MLB RF don't make that catch.
Francoeur looked like a clown regarding Acuña this year, so he probably has an agenda.Uhhh.... Francoeur.
