Braves Put 5 on MLB Pipeline's Top 100

Shewmake is one I'd keep an eye on. Tarnok among the pitchers.

Tarnok is a guy that I've been high on since he was drafted. It was always thought that he'd move really slow through the system, but I think he has a lot of upside that you don't usually see from guys drafted in the 3rd round. This will be his 4th season in the organization and I think this is going to be a huge year for his development.

Definitely going the Braxton Davidson route. He shall rise from the ashes like a great Phoenix.

You know that isn't actually the worst answer ever. Before he got hurt he was showing some signs of life as a prospect. He is going to be 24 this season, so this really may be his last chance to show that he can make it. But stranger things have happened. It would be a nice little story if he came out and had a really good year.

Yeah. But his age and time in the minors would never allow him to make a top prospect list. Way too much negative history that he would get promoted well before he atoned for it.

I am more just curious if he is still alive.

Shewmake was excluded in the original question because he’s already in that top-100/150 range. But he’s also a player about whom there could rise some quick helium.

He is someone who can shoot up. He's just an easy choice so I was wanting names other than him.

So who's our breakout candidate that might rocket into the top 100? I'm not talking about guys you could already argue belong on the list (like Muller or Shewmake). Who's the guy who is not even in consideration for the top 100 that might break out and be on this list this time next year?

Doubt either becomes a Top 100 guy as quickly as the end of next season, but I'm looking for breakouts from both Kasey Kalich and Jared Johnson - think both of these guys are going to wind up as sleepers.

Kalich won't crack the rankings since pure RPs rarely - if ever - do, but he has that Joey Devine feel and can probably come really fast. Johnson was a true "pop-up" guy that kinda came out of nowhere with a big arm.
