Safe to say I did not see that coming. Suffered a shoulder injury making a tag play at home plate for Gwinnett. The subsequent shoulder surgery was termed "Career threatening" and I guess we can confirm that as fact.

Blair would have had to been kept on the MLB 40-man roster to be placed on the 60-day DL, and the combination of torn rotator cuff and capsule tear meant he was a longshot to be ready at any time next season. He had just recovered from a torn lat muscle from the end of the 2017 season.

The Braves indicated they would continue covering his rehab and would be open to re-signing him at such time he could pitch.

For his career, Blair made a total of 16 starts with a 2-8 record and 7.89 ERA.

It's really surprising how quickly he fell. At one point, he was ranked as a top-50 prospect by several reputable outlets.

I saw a guy say a few days ago that the Diamondbacks screwed him over and changed his repertoire and he just never adjusted from there.
