I certainly do not view this as a win for the young pitching, AJ is just not that good behind the plate, he hit fine, but the rest is much more important right now.

Completely agree wth this. I don't want to handcuff our ability to improve this position for the future by dedicating resources to mediocrity ala Markakis.

I didn't want Weiters either bc i dont think he'll hold up. I was hoping AJ went to an AL team.

The good news.... As others pointed out, now we don't sign Weiters and lose our high 2nd round pick and big money. The bad news... We continue to not develop Bethancourt or some other young catcher.
