Braves sign Kenley Jansen

Yeah AA took a WS winning bullpen and made it even better. You can tell AA doesn’t want a fringe starter he wants somebody that can make an impact if he gets one. He may run with what we have until the AS break. I could see him getting Soler though. Gonna be a lot of rotating once RAJ comes back if he does.

There was a lot of rotating after the deadline. We had Pederson, Soler, Rosario, and Duvall all rotating in and out. This year with the DH, you can have Soler, Duvall, Rosario, Ozuna, and Acuna rotating in and out. I'd like to get Acuna off his feet as the DH occasionally

Out of LF move for sure, but looking at our Projected AAA rotation vs our projected AAA pen, it makes a lot of sense.

If you can trust Snit with an actual platoon, you can have Soler, Acuna (once fully healthy), and Ozuna play every day while strictly platooning Duvall and Rosario. But, with Snit being Snit and being in love with Duvall, I don't see that happening without FO interference.

I would rather used that money on an impact bat. But this is a one year deal. I’d take Rosario and Jansens money and get a conforto.

This is what I’m thinking as well, but I’m obviously the low man around here on Rosario.

The BP is certainly going to be a huge strength though, and that strength will be amplified in October.

Yup. AA isn’t making moves to increase the regular season win total at this point. It’s all about having the best team come October. That’s why 4/5 SP wasn’t prioritized.

AA has given a 100 piece tool kit to a guy who can barely change a lightbulb. I suspect I'll be infuriated 3-4 times per week as Snit bungles the BP usage.

I give you the Wenger 1699 (rocket launcher attachment sold separately):

It will be interesting to see what Conforto even ends up getting. He's a Boras client, and likely should have accepted the QO after a down last season. I don't even think he has many suitors left at this point.

Which was why I disliked the Rosario deal. Conforto (or Soler) could very well have fallen into AA’s lap on a discount 1 year deal. Unfortunately, he is no longer in a position to take advantage of it because he felt the need to sign Rosario while better options were available.

Having to take a hit on the farm for Olson deal may have made losing a pick unacceptable

I get what you're saying. But don't forget, Conforto would also cost us a pick. I don't see him accepting anything less than what he turned down in the QO, especially since he's a Boras client.

I would have preferred Conforto over Jansen + Rosario but it sounds like AA had a specific focus. And I get that.

NORTH PORT, Fla. -- As Kenley Jansen experienced his first day with his new employer, he reminisced about those childhood days when his love for baseball was fueled by the countless times he spent watching his older brother, Ardley, and fellow Curacao native, Andruw Jones, play within the Braves' organization.

“It’s awesome to put this uniform on,” Jansen said. “This is where it all started for me. This is where the hope started. This is where the dream to become a Major Leaguer started. Growing up, I was a big Fred McGriff fan, and then the next thing you know, Andruw Jones gets to the World Series and hits two home runs.”
