According to Baseball America's Ben Badler (premium content), the Braves hope to strike again in Venezuela, which has given them Pedraza and Victor Reyes. They may go head to head with the Marlins for third baseman Juan Yepez, who could pull in excess of a million bucks. Been a while since the Braves invested so heavily in the International market.

Once again, the Braves refuse to disclose their signings and the sheep-like Braves media refuse to put their feet to the fire to disclose anything. The state of the Braves' newspaper coverage is very 1968. Also makes you appreciate a SOB like Dick Young for being an ass for the sake of the story.

I was looking for a scouting report on this kid and I saw our international signing pool. It really is BS that we never get to pick high and get shafted in international signing too. Its no wonder we cant break through and win the world series when we get penalized for being a mid market team that rarely has a losing season.

So we one and done? Probably saving some money for next year so we could possibly sign TWO guys??? Eh eh?

Patience grasshopper. We sign about 30 international players every year. All will be revealed in due course.

Here's the list:

Luis Alonzo (6-1, 175, age 17) C Panama.
Grendis Ferrer (6-3, 200, 17) OF Dominican Republic.
Yan Patrick Guerrero (6-3, 195, 17) 1B. Dominican Republic
Deyvis Julian (6-2, 185, 16) RHP Dominican Republic.
Luis Olmos (5-11, 165, 16) SS Panama
Alan Rangel (6-2, 185, 16) RHP Mexico
David Sacaria (5-2, 220, 17) OF St. Thomas, Virgin Islands
Bredio Vega (6-2, 185, 17) RHP Panama
Juan Yepez (6-2. 190, 16),3B-OF is he a $1 million player? Braves seem to think so, but he's on nobody's top 30 list. Venezuela

The signing of Yenier Bello has not been that well received because of his age (29), but that age means his $400 K signing bonus does not count against the Braves' international cap. We hear now he has a spring training invite as part of his deal.

He is reporting to Orlando even as we speak.
