Braves Trade Deadline Rumors

Barring the unforeseen, Harper will probably be the best player in baseball in three years. His injury really messed them up.

You're not the first to make this claim, but I still don't see how he'll be better than Trout.

From Rotoworld:

The Braves may look to trade for a backup infielder and left-handed bench bat via a waivers trade this month.

Ramiro Pena's season ended due to a torn right labrum in June. Earlier this week, Braves general manager Frank Wren was able to pull off a trade for Angels' reliever Scott Downs, who filled perhaps Atlanta's most pressing hole, but couldn't consummate a swap to fortify his bench. "I think there's a good chance (of another trade), once we have a better sense, get guys healthy, get the team functioning the way we see it functioning going forward - that's short of other injuries," Wren said. "I think we'll probably have some other activity, but all in all we're pretty happy. The club is playing as well as we've played all year long. There're a lot of positives."

I think the Nationals are set up pretty well. Solid core as gf says. Barring the unforeseen, Harper will probably be the best player in baseball n the next three years.

Trout is the best player in baseball.

And much better than Harper.

Outside of power, what does Harper have over Trout, not much.

Posted the first 10+ WAR since Bonds on roids.

Not sure they could get Cano.

Is Laroches 2nd year a option or guaranteed.

I suppose if they trade him, they could make a play for him.

Trout is putting up all-time great numbers at 21-22.

That's been the consistent premise of my argument in these Trout versus Harper discussions: only fourteen months older, Trout's already producing at all-time great levels, while Harper's greatness still largely lies in projection.
