Braves trade Mallex and Simmons to M's for Gohara and Burrows

do we trust bWAR over fWAR now? i get lost because it seems people quote the one that best makes their argument.

It depends on what you are trying to look at. I do trust bWAR for individual player data. Especially for outfielders. I think DRS is a much better metric than UZR for outfielders. For pitchers? I honestly like averaging the two. Gohard for example I don't think has pitched as good as his FIP suggests or as bad as his ERA suggests.

I was talking more about Mallex being 1.6 WAR on BR and .8 on FG. fWAR is used most of the time unless bWAR makes their argument better.
fWAR loves Alex Wood so that one gets used for him.
I tend to like bWAR for pitchers and a "somewhere in the middle" approach for hitters. I wasn't calling you out, just saying there's an obvious lack of consistency all-around.

I think fWAR is mostly used because they were really the front runners of it's use and the website is a lot better to use
