Braves TV Network Discussion

This seems like more games than in past seasons. Maybe not though... I listen to them at work
I think it was 12-15 last year also. Then we got some of the NY feeds and I got several when they played Boston from NESN. But I’m in a part of NC that is not in Atlanta’s viewing area so I have to buy it from mlb tv. Wilmington and parts of the mountains are Braves locality but where I am at Fort Bragg and Raleigh is considered Baltimore and Washington 🤮

I think some of the games from Spring Training were from other team feeds. I seems to recall only a handful of games, maybe five, perhaps, were from the Braves announcers. Assuming all spring games from Gray are with the Braves crew, leads me to believe that Gray Media is going to be a big part of what the Braves network will be.

So a couple things in that above article indicates talks are going with several companies to distribute this future network, including DirecTV, Charter, Comcast, Hulu, and YouTube TV. That's a pretty good sign to me. Will there be a DTC app? Not sure about that. If there's a wide distribution, will there be a need for one?

Still some thought about other teams in the region possibly getting in. A bit interesting to me that apparently the NBA doesn't want their teams to make a long term TV deal. With Main Street all but done, teams like the Hawks, Grizzlies, and Predators will need new TV homes.

Anxious to see how this plays out.
