Bud Norris and the Other Short-Term Trade Assets

It's cool. BTW, another reason I'd look into getting Nicholas is that I expect Ramos not to be available this off-season. Nats are going to extend him before hand IMO.

That guy Nicholas look interesting! However, I have a gut feeling that the team is going to end up chasing Weiters. He's a good player and all, but man he's got some injury history and age working against him. Especially for what he will cost.

Btw, IMO, if we get ANYTHING for Bud Norris that is above org filler I will call it a success.

DOB reporting that Julio's scheduled start is being pushed back to Friday from Thursday. He speculated it could have something to do with having him fresh for the AS game. Another theory is that it could pave he way for a Norris trade. De La Cruz is the likely Wednesday starter, Folty would be on regular rest to take Thursday (originally Julio), then Julio could take Friday (originally Norris). If the idea is to trade Norris at his peak value and there's "intense" interest, something in the next 24-48 hours would certainly fit the bill.

Good call. It does make a lot of sense to deal now.

I could definitely see a Norris/Oganda deal happening soon. Might as well just eat the cash and throw in Oganda to sweeten the pot

I think we would do well to get a return for Norris that's similar to the return we got for Johnson and Uribe last year.

Looks like what we got was somewhere in between what we got for just Kelly Johnson this year and what we got for Johnson/Uribe last year.

Lots of talk about moving Vizzy in a deal; but what about Krol/Cervenka/Alvarez?

All have looked pretty good for us and teams are always looking for some bullpen reinforcements down the stretch.

Would be willing to deal any reliever right now for a good return. But I think we need to keep 2 of our lefties. Alvarez and Hunter would be the guys I want to keep.. but I would be listening.

Right, both are controllable and could be a big part of future bullpens, but we also have 3 lefties right now that are all pitching well -- seems like we could certainly move at least one of them.

Frenchy a tradeable guy now? Looking for a platoon guy with a little power and solid d. Couldn't he fetch a Kelly Johnson like return?
