Bush/Clinton

It would be nice not being misunderstood or intentionally misquoted. I didn't say radical and my comments have been intentionally about of how individuals are perceived, how they come across. Wish folks wouldn't hear what they want to hear. Warren, Ron Paul, GJ, Cruz, Saunders - all come across poorly, imho, and are easy to paint poorly. Were is the non-establishment candidate who can articulate his/her views well in a suit or outfit that fits, that don't have odd ticks, who aren't wild-eyed, etc.?

To repeat:

Don't mean to unnecessarily offend - but that's how he comes across - as does Cruz, Warren, Johnson, et al.

They come across to a general public that will need to be won, as wild-eyed crazy old aunts and uncles or pot-heads (Johnson). And in our visually-vain age that doesn't help.

That's my opinion, and I freely admit, I could be wrong...

But I'm talking perception, not substance.

Warren isn't running for President and doesn't care today tomorrow or yesterday how she is perceived by anyone outside of Mass.
The rest, save Johnson (and I doubt he's running) are a tad too ambitious by half.

Who is Saunders?

Sanders - Bernie Sanders. Sorry for the misspelling of his last name in that post.

As I've aged and reflect on all these years I've been in political hackery and policy wonkery, I've formed an opinion that arch-conservatives believe people are stupid and ultra-liberals believe people are helpless. It's become a very tiresome debate.

Many are stupid.

Many are lazy.

Many are helpless.

Many are busy.

Many have problems that they wrestle with that keep them from engaging as actively in politics as political-wonks.

Many are all about appearances.

All aren't. But many are.

Rand Paul comes across poorly in different circles for different reasons - agree or disagree with him but he is provocative. As is Warren and Sanders.

Johnson seems to me would just as soon see the national light shine elsewhere

Cruz --- I think you are being kind "...come across poorly"

I think it a bad sign when pols that make us consider something outside the box are judged by how they come across. Seems that is 180 degrees from what the public says they want.

Talking about Ron Paul - not Rand. And yes, I know Ron isn't a candidate this go round.

It's not just the politicians that are at fault - our culture is too image conscious, in my opinion. One of the problems of moving in an image-over-word-based-culture direction like we've been doing. But can't shut that door now. It is what it is.

All very true, but it just strikes me that both sides run to the extremes of the somewhat famous Churchill quote, which I've always thought the height of arrogance, and I paraphrase, "Anyone who is not a liberal before they are 40 doesn't have a heart and anyone who isn't a conservative after they turn 40 doesn't have a brain." The world is simply a lot more complex than that. I don't know if that is what you are saying, but I thought I'd make myself more clear.

If I recall correctly, you supported the status quo.. and I suspect you'll continue to do so. So apparently perception matters to you as well

That's a non sequitor.

And I apologize for my remarks about Dr. Paul earlier which have hurt your feelings.

HuffPost isn't on board with Jeb Bush. They've got his picture under a headline about sexually abusing underage girls.
