Bye Bye Bowman

It amazes me how out of touch thethe and nsacpi are with this subject.

How people vote is not necessarily indicative of well they like a particular candidate. We know that are large amount of people hold their nose when selecting candidates because they really don't like the other candidate.

We already know that the vast majority of republicans and democrats vote straight partisan lines all the way down the ticket. But somehow we are to believe that they vote drastically different in the primary.....

People largely vote the status quo, for whatever party the affiliate with.

She is so unpopular that she will never lose a primary in her district.

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!

Drives me crazy that congress is consistently terribly unpopular yet incumbent win 80% of the time

Biden's approval rating among democrats has been in the 60's for most of this year. Yet he won 87% of the Democrat primary.

Short of an amendment allowing Obama to run again, Biden was always going to win the Democrat primary regardless of who was running. That is not an indicator of his popularity. Partisan voters simply vote the status quo.

Actually sitting (and former presidents) have been known to lose primaries. Usually, they prevail when they seek nomination, but losing individual primaries is not unusual. Jimmy Carter had a long drawn out battle with Ted Kennedy for example. Insurgents like Pat Robertson and Pat Buchanan have won primaries or caucuses.

Not you're using individual caucuses in an election from 44 years ago as proof? You're better than that nsacpi.

Carter again was one of the least liked Presidents. And yet he still won the primary by 13.5 points. While that is much closer than any other primary vote for an incumbent since then, it's still a relative landslide in political terms. Not to mention, the country was far less divided politically than it is now.

I agree with this, and it’s one of the reasons some Trump supporters don’t understand how 2020 happened despite Trump engaging his base more than Biden. I think Biden ****ing sucks, but I also happen to think Trump sucks much more for me, so I’ll be voting for Biden. So I’m sure as **** not going to watch him speak at a campaign event or speak highly of him, despite being resigned to voting for him.

Trump is a buffoon, but he didn't get us involved in 2 different Wars. He didn't retreat out of Afghanistan, leaving billions of dollars in Military equipment and getting a bunch of people killed in the process (including US Soldiers). Trump didn't hike inflation to record levels. And he didn't let illegal immigration run rampant.

There are a lot of reasons to not like Trump. There are far more reasons to not like Biden.

"Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan
between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan which is not recognized by the United States
as a state and is known as the Taliban and the United States of America
February 29, 2020
which corresponds to Rajab 5, 1441 on the Hijri Lunar calendar
and Hoot 10, 1398 on the Hijri Solar calendar"

The United States is committed to withdraw from Afghanistan all military forces of the United States,
its allies, and Coalition partners, including all non-diplomatic civilian personnel, private security
contractors, trainers, advisors, and supporting services personnel within fourteen (14) monthsfollowing
announcement of this agreement, and will take the following measures in this regard:

Remind me who was president in February of 2020? Sure Biden could have renegged on the agreement but by the timehe took office it was 11 out of 14 months into the process of the withdrawal When Trump left office we had 2500 troops in Afghanistan. Explain how Biden could counteract that better?

Don't get me wrong, Biden is a fool, but blaming him for retreating out of Afghanistan when Trump literally left him with that.

This has been thoroughly debunked.

"But Biden can go only so far in claiming the agreement boxed him in. It had an escape clause: The U.S. could have withdrawn from the accord if Afghan peace talks failed. They did, but Biden chose to stay in it, although he delayed the complete pullout from May to September."

And the issue isn't pulling out of Afghanistan. I am pretty sure that the peace accords had unilateral support. It was the manner in which it was done under Biden.

OK so Biden decides to send thousands of Troops to Afghanistan what does that gain?

He wasn't legally or technically boxed in, just optically and logistically boxed in.

What does it gain? Protecting stability in the region for one. The entire point of pulling out of Afghanistan was the peace accords, which the Taliban then violated. Secondly, how about not handing over a terrorist group billions of dollars in military equipment? That seems reason enough by itself.

Biden wasn't boxed in at all, optically, logistically, or legally. He chose the route he did and it got a bunch of people killed. He completely botched the situation and was routinely panned for it.

If that was the case why did Trump keep pulling troops out?

Right?

I mean I could be told different but what’s been better about a Biden tenure?

I can’t think of anything offhand?

The finger pointing about abandoning Bagram was an awful stain on the Afghan retreat. Most military opinions were this was communicated as a huge mistake and they didn’t listen
