Bye bye Colorado, hello Minnesota

My wife and I moved from Colorado last week. Holy God moving is expensive. Over 800 bucks for the moving truck, plus gas for it and 2 vehicles. A motel room and food for the 2 days we were on the road. We arrived at my parents place last Thursday. Staying here with them until we close on our home on the 28th. It's exciting and stressful all at the same time. And employment situation isn't as smooth transitioning for me as it was for my wife. She was able to transfer and started working yesterday. My transfer is being held up because my losing store didn't submit my background check before I left. I am being promoted to a spot which is nice, but this sucks not working. Just thought I'd share with you folks.

I just moved too, though a much smaller & closer move.
Luckily I had a very small amount of things.
I'd like to try living in that part of the country though (Minnesota).

I was in Minnesota in Feb and damn near froze to death just walking to the rental.

I think it's cool though how they have all the downtown buildings connected with indoor walkways.

Never been to colorado. Trying to get a client from there

I don't mind the cold at all. Grew up in it. I mean it sucks if you let it bother you. I think more than anything it's inconveinent above anything else.

Prior Lake is where we will live. It's about 25 minutes south of Minneapolis.

Okay, I think our neighbors have family near there. My wife and my cousins live in the northeast suburbs (Blaine and Annoka) and we hang out a lot.

Our business is heavily in that area, Jordan, Waconia, New Prague, and Shakopee Detention Center. We bought our van in Bloomington. Actually you are in a very nice area. THey have a huge playground we take our kids to and you are not far from Mall of America/IKEA.

I am still contemplating in taking a contract job in Minny and ditching my job. Brother needs to eat, lol.

If memory serves me correctly 50Pound lives somewhere close to me as well. AA what is stopping you from getting a new job out here?

My house. I love my house and where I live. Out in the country big yard, neighbors are a few acres away on each side so they are not intrusive but yet we can get together and grill or throw down a few beers/wine/shine.

If I move to the cities, I won't get near as much. We contemplated Charlotte, Seattle and even work for my brother in Anaheim, but I have a feeling the wife will get homesick.

going to Rochester the weekend of the 28th to see a friend at the hospital, he has very late stage of cancer.

On the boards he was the site admin and moderator and we clashed, but since he is far from home and I've known him for 13 years, I want to have him see a friendly face if it goes from bad to worse. Plus all the juicy stories we have while being on the board. I am a different mod than he was and he thinks I am too easy at times but now getting around on why I mod a certain way and approves.

So if you want to meet up for a beer (on me), we can, you are probably less than an hour away.
