Also I'm already at around 1000 feet in elevation. I'm sure it would be more impressive from a little further south.

I believe somewhere out there is Mount Washington, but I'm no good at remembering mountains. Many here can pick them out of a lineup.

I spent some time in NH in my younger years (around Berlin) and then again when I worked for an airline. I really liked NH, VT & ME. Some beautiful country.

I'm about an hour from Berlin, basically on the Northwest Edge of White Mountain Region. Kind of nice. But sooooo boring.

That's nice.

But the highest mountain east of the Mississippi is only 2 1/2 hours from Charlotte.

I'm going on vacation close to that mountain. Friends and I are tempted to give it a climb
