In a situation like this it's the closest you can get to justice. You shoot a 5 year old kid in the head point blank, you've waived your right to live.

We can debate the finer points of the death penalty but if there's a person on earth that deserves it, it's this kid's killer.
 
On an open and shut case like this, the murderer should be executed 1 week after the verdict. There's no reason to drag it out, and there's no reason for us to pay for his housing and food.

A person can walk into a mans home and kill him in cold blood and get 10 years. From what I hear this guy was hallucinating from some previous drug use. Doesnt excuse the crime but its a better excuse than Amber Guyger had. I think the death penalty should be reserved for the most heinous of crimes. Like killing someone with a pickaxe or particularly brutal crimes. Also number of victims should be a key factor. Someone like Chris Watts is someone that deserves the death penalty. I know people want vengeance but I think he should have atleast some hope of getting out in 40 years or so.

What is more heinous than executing a kid for riding a bike In front of his sisters?
 
Stabbing. Lots of worse ways to go than a bullet to the head. If he was of right mind then by all means give him the death penalty.

It’s not the means of death it’s that happened to a five year old in broad daylight, in the middle of the day
 
The difference between how this was handled and Amber Guyger was is pissing me off. This guy is immediately arrested with no bond and immediate talk is of the death penalty. She gets 3 days before being allowed to turn herself in at a jail of her choosing and was in custody for 30 minutes..... for murder...... I know people here are going to hate on me for saying this but it isnt right. Very little difference in the crimes. One gets 10 years other likely to get the death penalty. The ****ing woman was making jokes like "people never thank me for not murdering them" on her social media. Had all kinds of racist **** on her social media including disparaging remarks about cops that were black. Lead investigator said he didnt even see a crime there...... We all know if Botham had done exactly what Guyger did he would be on death row right now. That courtroom would have been packed every day with cops in uniform and nothing less than the death penalty would have been acceptable to them. So yeah, if that gets 10 years then this crime should be about 20 years.
