#Braves have released OF Carlos Quentin, who was acquired in the Kimbrel/Upton trade. He is officially a free agent.

Actually no, that 3M is based on a mutual option where it comes with 320 games from 2013-2015, since he played 132 games in 2013 and 14, it's impossible for him to get enough games. I don't know if that means no buyout or a lower amount.

That's how I read it too Zito. Should just be the $8m. I'm sure Preller stayed up for 10 days straight trying to trade Quentin, so no surprise at all that no one was interested. Kimbrel trade still a huge win for Braves.
