Fredi probably wants Perez to play LF tonight because KJ will have to play 1B tonight. We've seen enough of having Gomes hit against right handers.
Seems like the only flipping Hart is doing lately is flipping cards to see who gets sent down and who gets called up.

I hope this is the reasoning. Otherwise, the move to have Castro up only one day looks kind of haphazard since we had emergency coverage at SS (Jace) for yesterday's game if long-neck bottle had gotten hurt.

eh, I rarely disagree, but I do on Perez. I've seen him plenty of times and he's just not that good of a player. Especially if you want to put him in LF. KJ/Gomes would certainly outperform him unless he learned how to hit a breaking ball in the last few weeks.

Hmm. Perez's AAA numbers have taken a bit of a plunge since I last checked.
Still, he's young enough, his minor league numbers are good enough and our incumbent LFers are unimpressive enough that I wouldn't mind giving him a month or so to prove himself. KJ's hitting the ball well, but Gomes is at .210/.294/.328. I feel like there's at least a reasonable shot of Perez being able to best those numbers.

The numbers would be fine if Gomes were relegated to simply hitting lefties and KJ vs. righties. Eury is kinda like a few players previously where scouting reports and organizational thoughts of a guy were lower than the opinion us message board posters have.

Why move a good OBP guy behind our best hitter for a low OBP hitter that isnt even that much faster. Dont fix what isnt broken.
