Biggest academic cheating scam of all time and what does North Carolina get out of it? Punishment, nope...instead a Final Four and Championship gets handed to them.

Dean knew
Roy knows

Pathetic

It's amazing.

Every analyst ripped the committee for giving Cuse an at-large bid over some other teams. They're in the F4 now.

They didn't deserve it for a number of reasons. One of them being they cheated and got caught. Boehiem was suspended for 8 games and the committee decided not to take those 8 games into consideration....how does that make sense? They also got a cupcake draw before facing UVA.

"before facing UVA" who they beat after being down 16 in the 2nd half.

Dayton earned a 7 seed, and 'Cuse handled them pretty easily.
Gonzaga is much better than an 11 seed, too IMO.
they certainly lucked out facing MTSU over MSU, but they have no control over who they play. and then they beat a 1 seed who are considered one of the better defensive teams in the country.

Syracuse is a well-rounded team and their defense is suffocating at times. it's really hard not to root for Gbinije.

LOL, Syracuse is trash and will get absolutely whipped by the Tar Heels. That zone is going to get destroyed because it's weak along the baseline where the bigs of NC thrive, it's open in the middle and with the new found mid range game of Brice Johnson he will destroy it, and Carolina and Paige remain hot from outside the game will be over within 5 minutes. Plus the zone allows offensive rebounding where Carolina is at it's finest. And JB has saved the season for the Cuse by being able to comeback by speeding the game up with full court presses and traps, and if he does that against Carolina LOL, they'll be lucky to hang within 50.

Syracuse is garbage. No other way to look at it.

Carolina is cutting the nets down, no doubt about it, none of these teams can hang with them. They will win in decisive fashion. Let's face it, this is the most down year in like eternity for really no dominate or even great teams in the game.

And after 2 decades of cheating, they will get a mere slap on the wrist and the NCAA will be so mad about it that they will give some no name school the death penalty.

Trash, historically speaking.....YES. I give them credit, they had to do what they had to do, they've beaten and they've outplayed who they have had to play to make it to this point, to make it this far, but make no mistake about it they just are not that good. They didn't play anyone that was really good until they met Virginia, and they got lucky to pull that rabbit out of the hate (On Easter sunday no less). It's pretty well known that Tony Bennett's teams and style of play aren't made for March. They came up short once again.

They are arguably the worst team to make the final four IMO, and that article backs that up.

The article backs it up by using overall ranking entering the tournament...that's not really "backing it up" statistically.
MTSU beat Michigan State. Gonzaga beat a 3 seed in Utah before running into Syracuse.
Virginia handled a 4 seed...before losing to Syracuse.

"It was too easy."

"They got lucky."

Meh, that's too easy.

Dayton fell apart down the stretch. Lost to St Bonnies, St Joes (2), Rhode Island and were even taken to overtime against St. Louis. It was a joke they were the 7 seed.

Teams either get hot at the right time or have good draws all the time. Syracuse making the final four doesn't change that they shouldn't have been, it doesn't change anything. George Mason, VCU, LSU, etc weren't one of the top 40 teams in the NCAA when they made final four runs. Syracuse didn't even have an over .500 record vs. top 150 RPI teams.

5-6 vs. top 50
3-4 vs. 51-100
1-2 vs. 101-150
10-1 vs 150+ (losing by 12 to St. Johns)

UNC needs to get the SMU treatment, the death penalty. What they did and instituted was much worse than what SMU took part in. Nearly 2 decades of a academic sham, all in order for the glory of their athletic departments, specifically men's basketball and a smaller extent football. What's pathetic is that UNC is a good academic institution, obviously not on the level of an Ivy type school or small private school, but they put that entire reputation on the line, for the sake of the athletic department, at the expense of it's student body. And for them to boost about it, deny it, and blindly turn their eyes on the magnitude of what has gone on is absolutely sickening. And why this hasn't gotten more coverage is beyond incomprehensible.

Warning for the NCAA, if the appropriate measures aren't taken, and the decesion and penalty isn't severe and decisive, then you open yourself into a whole new ballgame in which the NCAA will cease to exist. All those other schools that have punished for much smaller infractions are watching intently and chomping their bit to seek and destroy.

But watch, UNC has institude their 4 corner stall ball offense in regard to working with the NCAA to delay punishment to buy time for this UNC team and for them to bask in the glory of a 2016 Final Four and Championship in a year of no dominant teams outside of them, all the while merely getting a slap on their wrist for all of their transgressions for 20 years of the biggest academic scandal in collegiate sports history. Worst case scenerio is Brice and Marcus Paige are gone obviously, while Jackson and Meeks declare for the draft and then, and only then, does UNC enforce a self-enforced ban for a season in which they know, they have no chance to compete.

How this is not getting more coverage is beyond belief. Oh wait, a good percentage of the media members that have influence went to UNC including ESPN's own head man John Skipper. Hey why cover decades of cheating when you can spend so much time flipping out about whether or not Grayson Allen tripped out of bed this morning or if Coach K said a curse word or Lebron James deleting someone from his Twitter account.
