CBB Thread

Just bc it's fun to complain about things, the AP awards came out:

Kaminsky
Grant
Russell
WCS
Okafor

Clearly Kaminsky was best player in country this year. BUt, I don't see how Delon Wright isn't first team. He's right behind Kaminsky, imo.

3 of the best 4 (and maybe top 3) teams in the country made the final 4 so it shapes up to be a good one. There were no teams that just got a lucky draw and didn't have to beat anyone. Whether Kentucky has to go thru Wisky then Duke or Duke then Wisky; it really doesn't matter.

Dook got a lucky draw, didnt really play anyone of worthy.

I guess if you keep saying dumb crap, maybe you will convince someone.

Utah/Zaga arent bad but there's no reason UK's side of the bracket should have been so stacked and Dook's is pie.

But i guess the commitee people wanna see UK/Dook for ratings.

"Kentucky's side of the bracket"

Yeah, Wisconsin in the final four. Notre Dame in the elite 8, and WVA in the sweet 16 vs. Duke playing Utah in the sweet 16, Gonzaga in the elite 8, and Michigan State in the final 4.

How dont they?

Pile up lot of wins and lose early in the tourny, rinse, repeat.

08/09- lost to #1 UNC
09/10- lost to #1 Syracuse
10/11- lost to #3 BYU (as an 11)
11/12- lost to #2 Ohio State (as a 7)
12/13- lost to #9 WS (as a 1) WS made it to final 4
13/14- lost to #1 Arizona
14/15- lost to #1 Duke

Rick Barnes to the real UT. I like the hire. Gets to the tourney every year and recruits good/great players. Not the best on the court coach, but I mean I think it's a real good hire considering we're far from an elite basketball school. Certainly a guy that will likely be here till he retires.

I guess it's about as good as Tennessee can do.

If Alabama gets Marshall, the SEC is going to have some really good coaches.

Kind of surprised Willie got first team, but he deserves it. He is our best player and an unreal defender. And there are times when he has completely carried us.

If I had to rank him, Noel, and AD (purely on defense)... it would be tough. Think I'd go:

1. AD
2. WCS
3. Noel

But really, those guys are all elite. WCS is the most versatile, Noel may be the best shot blocker, but AD is from another planet. Kentucky has been blessed with freaks of nature on defense.

Agreed. Not a basketball conference outside of Kentucky so getting someone that can recruit and bring a top 25 program has value

Not crazy to put him first but I dont think hes one of the top 5 players in country. Think hes 6-10
