CBB Thread

Meanwhile, I'm the only one on this board who cares, but that's alright. Reading some things that say Avery Johnson had a real good meeting with Alabama in regards to their head coach opening. Reports are saying he has emerged as the clear front-runner for the job.
Avery is an excellent coach. I think its a potential great hire. He seems to be a coach better suited for college instead of the NBA.

Inwas somehow right and wrong on Duke. I said at beginning of year they might be best team. But there defense lagged and once their draw came out I thought it would be too tough. Utah, Gonzaga, Michigan State is brutal.

Im not sure why people are crapping on Duke, they are loaded. Best big man in college basetball, good guard play that hit 3s and the perfect small forward. Duke/Wisky should be a great game.

Its so tiring to hear people whine about refs over and over. Yes, they are going to miss some calls and they are certainly going to have bad games, but for the most part refs do a fine job (and a job they will never get credit for). To claim they are racist is just sour grapes.

Amazing season for Kentucky but I think we see again that experience can beat talent. Down the stretch, you have the Harrison twins trying to take over game. How does that make sense? Neither are good offensive players while Towns, Booker, ullis can make shots. What is the hard on Cal has for those 2? Clutch bc they hit a couple shots last year? Well, they threw the game away last night including an airball when down 4. Maybe switch in defense for offense but the Harrisons are not good offensive weapons.

Wisky had Dekker in Towns and Towns couldnt score. That is concerning to say the least.

I think Kentucky did a poor job setting up post opportunities for Towns and the Harrisons did a bad job giving in entry passes. I don't watch a lot of college obviously but it was clear to me how much better of a coach Kkrzyzewski is than Cal.

I thought Towns looked good in the opportunities that he had. He has post moves that he can build on plus a nice shooting stroke from the line.

I thought he moved his feet well on defense. He is going to be a really good pro once he gets a coach that knows how to get him the ball.

Towns could learn post moves from Okafor and Kaminisky if he watches game Monday night. Bc his low post game is far from developed.

Oh yeah, he isn't polished like those guys for sure but the fact that he is effective without reaching that ceiling is another positive for me. He flashes good baby hooks over both shoulders. He just needs to learn how to install counter moves to his initial move because pro defenders are going to take away that first option a lot. That is definitely what Okafor has over him. He is really good at going to a move and faking it then turning to the opposite side for an easy lay-in.

Okafor is going to score in the pro's. I have no question about it. He will be a 20+ PPG guy in his career. That has never been the criticism of him.

The more I think about it.. **** college basketball and it's horrible officials. If that game is called fairly/correctly, Kentucky wins. Doesn't mean Kentucky couldn't have overcome it, but they shouldn't have to.

Call it sour grapes if you want but ^ is factual.

You must not know difference between fact and fiction. You and Heyward should hang out.

Again, fly-bys who watch 3 college basketball games all year somehow making grand conclusions in Aprill piss me off (not you, giles).

That said, you can crap on Andrew for trying to take over late if you want.. But the fact is he carried us through that first half and most of the second. He was unreal last night. 4 bad minutes at the end of the game doesn't change that.

2 of top 10 teams and a third top 15.

It is incredible how dumb u are.

Rankings mean diddly squat, eye test tells me they arent that good.

Gonzaga isnt bad, but no reason Dook should get them as a 2nd seed.

Not surprising given they somehow also get easy brackets.

"Factual" is obviously hyperbolic but the officials royally screwed us last night.

The shot clock is just one thing. Towns second foul was total BS and we had to play the last 5 minutes of the first half without him. Meanwhile Kaminsky hacks Andrew on a drive for what should be his second.. Nothing. Kaminsky is protected out there unlike any player I've seen, including Okafor. He can do whatever he wants.

Won't go into more details but there are several examples. How many OOB calls did they blow, for example? And all against Kentucky?

Just a ****ty job by the refs. They have bad nights too. Don't think they were trying to make Kentucky lose or something, but they were awful and most of you and other rival fans have been saying so since the game ended.

I thought the refs could have called a flagrant 2 on Lyles.
