Im not talking about buying in the sense of paying players, but they have an endless supply of money for facilities, planes, recruiting, yada yada and with money to pay Cal whatever he wants. This him to get all the best recruits, many only staying for 1 year or 2 years. While, that is certainly enjoyable for Kentucky fans (at some point does it get boring?), I don't think its enjoyable for college basketball fans.

I was just at the Murray St/ODU game last night. 8k screaming fans, players that have a real tie to their school/community spending 4 years or more on campus giving it their all and living and dying with each shot. That's what makes college basketball better than the NBA. Not watching an all star team get re shuffled every year.
 
Yeah, Kentucky invests more in basketball than most other places. Not sure why that's so wrong but it's okay when Alabama, Oregon, and Michigan do it in football.

Bottom line is Cal is the best in the business and it's not even close. College basketball has revolved around Kentucky since he got there, for better or for worse. Not his fault no one else can keep up.

It's more than just having the resources. We sucked when Billy Clyde was there and at the end of Tubby's reign. It's not like you automatically are good because you have tradition.

Also, this team is so good because they rely on a lot of sophomores and a junior. The freshman are good but they don't carry the load, unlike other years. They don't have much in common with other Kentucky teams.

At least college football players spend more than 1 year in college. Cal is certainly good, but when you have WWW and Lebron "supporting" the program, it certainly doesn[t hurt.

About who they rely on....the best players are Towns, Stein, Johnson, Booker, Lyles.

I doubt many people that are true college basketball fans enjoy the dynamic of 1 team having an all star team of freshman and sometimes sophs. Great for Kentucky fans, but its not like its enjoyable to watch.
 
ND doesnt have any size minus Auguste who already picked up his 2nd foul eating dinner.

Dont see them beating UK but if they got hot from the outside.
 
Bad loss for UNC, didnt think they'd do much but actually played well, hit alot of 3's.

As always, they have one 3-5 minute spurt in the game where they cant score and the other team pulls away.

Next years team is loaded if everyone returns, need a Jaylen Brown or Ingram but with the scandal thats unlikely

Honestly, as much as everyone hates on Kentucky, I'm glad they don't enjoy us destroying people. Fine with me.

I enjoy it plenty.
 
And to be clear, I'm not a big fan of the system of guys coming in for a year and leaving. But, that is how the system is so cant do anything about it.

Im just stating as a huge college basketball fan, its not enjoyable to watch. I don't hate Kentucky, I use to follow them a lot before I went to college.

Until Poythress got hurt, they started exactly 1 freshman.

Like I said, the freshmen are awesome and all contribute, but it's much different when they just contribute instead of having to shoulder the load as freshmen.. it's a luxury Cal hasn't had in a while. That's why this team is so good.

The Harrisons, Cauley-Stein, Dakari, and Marcus Lee all have Final Four experience. They are the leaders of this team. That can't be understated.
 
without the freshman, they wouldn't be a top 5 team. The Harrison's are ok, but not great players. Towns, Lyles, Booker, Stein are great players.
