CBB Thread

I posted a month ago that relative to expectations, duke's been a massive disappointment. The only time anyone posts in this thread is when it involves UK or Duke allegedly getting all the ref calls.

I don't mean any disrespect at all. But either you have only watched Duke for a couple seasons or you are a blind homer. Please just admit that Duke gets the benefit of a ton of calls.

Duke gets calls, Syracuse gets calls, Kansas gets calls, UNC gets calls, Kentucky gets calls, Michigan State gets calls. Everybody gets calls.

The only time anyone mentions anything is when it involves either Duke or Kentucky who benefit from it. Andre Dawkins got called for a flagrant foul tonight for grazing the Syracuse player. Two shots and the ball. Have you mentioned that yet? CJ Fair was out of bounds when he caught the ball prior to the drive to the basket where the charge was called. Shockingly, no one has admitted that the play should not have even taken place. Boeheim runs onto the court ala Bob Knight without the chair toss in a one possession game and gets tossed.

It's the same old story. Duke or Kentucky win, it's the refs fault. If UNC shoots 20 more free throws than their opponent, they're just being "aggressive". If Duke wins, refs fault for letting them win.

I don't think his foot was out of bounds when he caught the ball but I do agree it was close. I also agree with the flagrant on Dawkins, that was a bad call as well. You'd have more credibility in my eyes if you would just admit Duke got the benefit of the call tonight. There is no way that should have been called a charge. It doesn't excuse Boheim's behavior but it still was a bad call.

And if you've watched UNC at all this year I don't understand how you can't see why they get the calls they get. It's one of the most aggressive teams we've ever had. Why should a 3 point shooting team get the same number of calls as a team that attacks the basket? It just doesn't add up.

When the entire nation knows that Duke gets calls it has nothing to do with some Duke rival fans. It's common knowledge that Duke gets special treatment. If you can't admit that then you don't know much about college basketball.

The charge is just a lame call in general. Why do we reward the slower, less athletic player for purposefully getting in the way of another player and flopping to the floor? So weak.

Unless it's an obvious, bull-in-a-china-shop, head down, full-on assault at the basket, they should never call a charge. Either make a defensive play or get the f*** out of the way.

The refs were supposed to call the charge correctly this season, and that has been completely abandoned. Just like the hand-check rule. At the beginning of the year, they were calling hand checks on everything.. now they just let people hack and grab like they did last year. See the UL-UC game this weekend. Hack-slash-grab-athon. If that game was officiated by PAC-12 or SEC refs, every player would have fouled out.

Hopefully they don't let U of L and the other former Big East and Big 10 schools hack their way through the tournament again.

Paige is so clutch, big balls.

The Shockers are pretty much a lock for a #1 seed now.

Fair or not.

Refs and their makeup calls really piss me off. Izzo throws a fit on a no call and now 2 fouls on Egwu that could turn this game around quickly.

EDIT - Make it 3 BS calls on Egwu and he's fouled out

Arizona/Florida/WSU are locks for a 1.

Last spot either Cuse or Kansas.

Big time win for the Illini - if they win out, I think they have to be considered for the big dance as one of the last teams in. They'll have an 8-10 record in top to bottom the toughest conference, will have won 6 in a row to finish the season, and notable wins that include a neutral court win over Mizzou (bubble team), road wins at Minnesota, Michgan St, Iowa and UNLV, and a home win vs Michigan (likely Big 10 Champs)
