Cervenka Traded to MIA

OK guys, I relent. Not because Hunter had one bad inning (can happen to anyone), but because I've had time to digest the trade, and have changed my overall opinion based on the apparent pipeline of guys like Cervenka that we can replace him with.

That's really been my only point. No one disagrees with you that those guys are lottery tickets. The Braves have just always been better than most about finding these scrap heap guys and turning them into lottery tickets. Easier to find a needle in a haystack if you put lots of needles in there.

especially if those needles are filled with HGH

Alvarez has also been shelled since being traded.
Def the right time to deal both he and Cervenka.

Alvarez was always inconsistent, I don't know why 15 innings or so was enough to convince people he had finally refined his control enough. If we didn't have about an ass load of relievers it might have been worth it to see but odds are Alvarez and Cervenka would not have made the team in 2017.

Plus many of the upper level prospects like ManBan are going to turn into BP arms sooner rather than later, and all should be better than Alvarez and Cervenka.
