CHARGE DROPPED For Cop Who Shot & Killed Unarmed, Sleeping 7-Yr-Old Girl...

Again...give me a percentage of Copa you believe are corrupt.

too many

and the ones that aren't just straight out corrupt

seem to be complacent and are almost just as guilty in my eyes

instead of doing the right thing, they protect the blue shield

I wish we could have cyborg officers that always follow a moral code. Sadly, when your population consists of humans you are going to have bad seeds. Hopefully as we progress as a species the numbers continue to dwindle. The outcry though that this numer is so large is just hyperbole. Its no different than in any other profession and I'm not sure how to prevent it considering the talent pool are humans.

You're right, there's corruption in every field. Corporations and/or those that run them screw people daily.
However, I still feel it's too easy to become a cop. My buddy just became a cop in LA and it was rigorous, but other acquaintances have become local cops and they're morons. Like, couldn't handle ONE college class, so became a cop.

Its probably easy to become a cop because not that many people want to do it because of the implicit danger that comes with the job. The only way I can see ensuring that the supply includes more competant individuals would be to greatly increase the pay but we all know that isn't going to happen. I believe a starting NYPD officer makes somewhere around 40-45K and they start out in the worst of areas. Maybe some of you don't know but 45k is peanuts in NY. So you can see, the best and brightest are not jumping at the chance to become a cop and work in east new york.

Supplemental income:

1. Under the table

2. Protection

3. Look the other way

They do it, my cuz does it in Chicago and the IA is going to do the same thing as long there is no trails, no deaths and you don't abuse it.
