Charleston SC shooting

That's where we differ.
I want no part of the drugs you are taking that enable you to defend what you are defending or invoke how German hate groups get around the law as an excuse to continue to celebrate "The Old South".

No part

I'm not defending anything. I'm just pointing out the flaws in your arguments, which I think is confusing you because they aren't even your arguments to begin with.

Remember when Arthur Ravenel called the NAACP the 'national association of retarded people' ... and then apologized to retarded people ... and then we named the biggest bridge in the state after him?

SC actually stands for "Stay Classy."

Remember when a state representative called both the Republican governor and the Democratic president "ragheads?"

Gosh, I forgot to mention that Arthur Ravenel is now President of the College of Charleston.

Nikki Haley, or 'Nimrata' as she is lovingly referred to by some here, wants the death penalty for Dylann (seriously, why would you spell your [male] child's name that way) ...

Liberals be like sharks off the North Carolina coast.

I think the problem is something other than guns. There are developed countries with similarly lax gun laws that don't have the problems we do here in the US. I personally believe we have a mental health care crisis in this country. It may not solve the problem on its own, but to me that is the number one thing that needs to be addressed and not just because of these mass murders.

Would you attribute the 9/11 attacks to mental illness?

I forget the title to the gangster movie where Robert DiNero chided one of his underlings "you never take a knife to a gun fight"

Everyone understood what that meant.

Oh man, there I go one drugs again.

Or liberal media or some hog wash

Must be some primo **** man.

no man, I'm not confused - been pretty consistent over the years.
People making money off of weapons and people that defend the confederacy have a special place ...

Kind of had those "arguments" since well, Jr High School

a wise woman once said,

" if they can't win the discussion on policy they will argue the politics.
If they can't win on the politics, it gets personal"

Isolation costs a lot of money that you and I pay. I hope one of the murderers save us some money and do what they are good at.

I really don't care about the cost

What a weird comment to bring to the conversation. We have jails and they should be used for people like this. Not life for a pot dealer etc

I agree

He will get dealt with unless we have to pay a guard 24 hours a day for the rest of his life because he has a death sentence. I guess the family of those 9 can deal with paying for him to breathe while they lost people who will be six feet under.

oh the irony. Two peeps that would get shanked within a few days if they are ever in the community part of prison.

The David Chappelle skit Real World comes to mind.

Oh good gawd, is he really? Nice.

I guess this conversation can't really be considered complete without mentioning young Thomas Ravenel, who (for the uninitiated) got elected State Treasurer on the strength of his name, and was indicted a few months later on a federal drug beef.

"Eight of his [state senator and AME pastor Clementa Pinckney's] members, who might be alive if he had expressly allowed members to carry handguns in church, are dead. Innocent people died because of his political position on the issue."

-Charles Cotton, a longtime board member of the National Rifle Association

What a disgusting thing to say. What a scumbag.

By 'wise woman' (this is a mechanism you traditionally resort to, by the way: made up quotes) we are all assuming you mean Mother Jones.

Back in the old Scout Pulpit days, GATOM used the term
"we" often

I always assumed this saying was an old political saw. Below is the source.
And I did get it wrong. It is "process" rather than politics

page 168 about half wasy down the page

another old political saw ?
"Don't tax me, don't tax ye, tax that man under the tree "
